My grandma died earlier tonight.

Awhile back I requested prayer for my grandparents. The good news is that my grandpa’s cancer is in remission. The bad news is that my grandma is dying from cancer. The worst news is that they are still unsaved. My grandma’s cancer started in her lungs, but by the time the doctors found it, it had spread to her bones and crushed some vertebrae. My uncle called today to let us know she’s no longer eating and drinking and might not last much longer.

I’ve been praying for a year that God would take away anything and everything in their lives that keeps them from falling on their knees before Him. My uncle is hoping she’ll die quickly because of the intense pain she endures. But the wrath God is going to pour out on the unrepentant is going to be worse than anyone could ever imagine. While there’s life there’s hope! Please pray for my grandparents’ salvation and my family’s witness to them.

The Past Affects the Future

A little discussion has been going on in one of my classes on the qualifications of deacons. Some have been questioning why we have to look so far into a person’s past life. Haven’t we all messed up before we came to Christ? Why should we keep a man who is so godly from a leading position in the church? Should past actions affect future living?

In some cases, yes. If you think about it, the church is not the only place where this is true. Consider a criminal just released from jail. He has served his time, maybe even been forgiven for his past crimes. He isn’t excluded from society as a whole, but his past keeps him from certain jobs or places to live. His past is affecting his future, even though he’s paid his fine and been forgiven.

What do you think?

Peter & Christina - Sept. 23, 2006

Time wasn’t the only thing that began in the Garden. Marriage is one of those beautiful things that made it “very good.” As a friend joined her hand with another this last month, I was so privileged to be there and record the event through photographs.

Lookalikes

The actor that plays Martin Luther in the movie "Luther" looks like Mike Bibby. This was pointed out to me at the beginning of the movie...

Follow My Example

For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did… John 13:15
I’m taking this verse way out of context, but I wish my professor had said this to me. I've having trouble connecting concepts I need to complete assignments. I’m so glad Christ is not vague! The example is set before me; the Bible is my guidebook. Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Five papers down, one paper and two exams due next week—it’s week 8 of 16.

Regenerated Radio
Square Talk Radio has now been transformed to Regenerated Radio--part of Regenerate Our Culture! There are new shows up with topics for the future ones posted. I'm still amazed at how they put this together!

Updated Sites
It seems like fall is bringing in the urge to revamp. Both The Rebelution and New Attitude are sporting new skins with lots of neat features! At The Rebelution, be sure to check out all the great articles on the Resources page and make suggestions for ones that just have to be added. My favorite feature at Na, besides the free sermons ;-), is the ability to upload pics for their possible usage on the site!

Contest
If you're into free stuff (who isn't?), enter this contest to win a package of over $700 worth of Vision Forum stuff!! To enter, guess how many new products will be in their new catalog. For rules and details on how to enter, go to Life in a Shoe.

The Outdoor Bible
Yep, it's tear-resistant and waterproof! Not only is it great for camping trips, but project Light of the World 2006 is helping to get them to our troops!

New Blog
Teens On Their Knees is a blog for sharing prayer requests with each other. I'm not sure who's in charge of it, but I think the idea is great.
All you have to do is leave your request or praise as a comment. You are more than welcome to remain anonymous if you would like. And if your request is a little more personal, you can always email it to us: TeensOnTheirKnees@gmail.com.
Then be sure to prayer for all the requests as they're posted!

Good News
Last month I was blessed to get a dream lens for my camera! It's a Canon 70-200 2.8L IS USM. The lens came right in time for the wedding I photographed a couple of weeks ago. Keep on the lookout for pics!

Sad News
There is now only one teenager left in our house. :-(
