Ok, I posted this 'cause a classmate wanted to see a pic of a mutual friend. I totally forgot to take it down afterwards, but the comments made me laugh too much to do anything now. So yeah, we have crazy skits at camp!

We're Off!

It can't be. Camp is supposed to be like a month away, not tomorrow! But here it is. One of the most stressful, hard, and confusing, but awesome, inspiring, and well worth it weeks in the whole year--Christian Youth In Action (Child Evangelism Fellowship) camp. Seven (eight if you count the day I go early) whole days of rigorous learning and teaching, interspersed with tons of crazy fun! Please pray for me while I'm gone. I'm in charge of a class that has to teach every day. Also, please pray for the other staff members and students. This week stretches all of us, and Satan is often determined to pull us down. God has exciting work for us this summer! This week is just the beginning! Oops, gotta run and pack my stuff into the car! Cya in a week!

I feel sick. I feel like crying. I can't even find the words to tell you how awful our country has become, so I'll let this article do it for me.

"I love you in the winter, summer, spring, and in the fall"

What a time to live in northern California! Days after terrorists were found in Lodi, Muslims are up in arms because they feel threatened. Likened unto Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement, they are converging upon the Capitol demanding their rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of terrorism...

We have had the weirdest weather this year. I keep saying this 'cause the weather likes to keep proving my point! Just tonight there was a tsunami warning in Eureka resulting from a 7.4 magnituded earthquake there. And we have 6+ months left in the year. *can just see snow in July*

Camping Is--

Games in the Camper

Instead of a short list, I let go and wrote a book. And this is just about the last weekend...

I survived! Camping in a tent again, no less. Who said I don't camp? >:-O Two other families and mine got together at Woodson Bridge for some good old fashion fun. Our camper is in the shop, so we made do. This state park is right along the Sacramento River, right outside of Corning. Beautiful place! Until we got out of our trucks, that is. Within 5 minutes of getting out, we were mosquito meals. The humidity on top of that was too bad for words. I despise humidity! We fixed the mosquito problem somewhat with lots of bug spray and cool lanterns that you can hang around to drive them off. The humidity problem later vanished with the sun. Wouldn't you know that it would rain the first night? And in a tent no less? We were hanging in the Ds camper when I kept seeing flashes out of the corner of my eye. It was driving me crazy 'cause I couldn't figure out what it was! Little did I know but that a _huge_ thunder storm was coming our way. Lightening, thunder, lightening, thunder, lightening, thunder...you get the idea. It was pretty cool! Then came the rain. It came down from heaven with a boom! When we thought it couldn't get heavier, it did. There's just something about storm like this that is so powerful. Lightening withstanding, you just feel compelled to run out into it and spin around until you just collapse. Well, I resisted the urges, which is prolly good as it would've prolly have confirmed my craziness to my friends. :P

The next day was once again beautiful and sunny! With lunch packed, we headed out to Black Butte Lake. As you're driving to it, surrounding you is dry, brown, ugly weeds. Just as you're about to give up hope of ever seeing water again, you spot something--a lake! Though they had just told us earlier that week that they had beaches, we were informed at the gate that they were all covered in water. Nice. We drove up to the covered-in-water-beaches and saw signs in the water that said stuff like: no driving, open 8 am to 10 pm, and the like. I, for one, would like to see people trying to drive in water! We found a nice spot, set up, ate lunch, and jumped on the boat. Little C got up on skis on her first time ever, and Lucy got her first tubing ride. I had so much fun in the tube! At times I had to hang on for dear life, but that just lead me to stick out my tongue at M when the nearly dying on wakes ended. ;-) My poor sister got a bad sunburn on the backs of her shoulders. She couldn't reach that spot when she sprayed on sunscreen and didn't have anyone help her. Ouch! It has to be pretty bad if my dad or my sisters or I get sunburned! M pulled off his famous tubing stunts. They're good enough to pay to watch! On the wakeboard, though, he has got to pull off the 360. Landing it and missing the rope just isn't good enough. Yeah, look who's talking...

Last day was beautiful again! We had a nice little church service under the trees, sitting in camp chairs, and waving away mosquitos. My sister played the guitar while we sang out of our rest home song books. You don't even need to wear glasses for those. Because it was lunch time by the time we were packed up and ready to go, and In-N-Out was too far away, we ate a yummy lunch in the park. Half the kids managed to get hurt on the monkey bars. No broken arms, though! The day cumulated in dinner at the Ds, coming home and unpacking, and diving into bed. What a fantabulous, fun, family and friends weekend!

Aww

Guess what. The Ds named one of their new chicks "Lydia"! I say it's the cutest one. ;-)

Since I'm already on this topic, I'd just like to take the time to say I hate it when guys call girls "chicks"! *refrains from ranting*

Freaky Dancing

If you are unfortunate enough to own a mac ;-), you prolly haven't seen this, so you'll just have to take my word for it. Windows Media Player has color contusions which are displayed while a cd is being played on the 'puter. One day I was bored enough to go through the Ambience section. Whoa. Who comes up with all these names? I bet they have some fancy-shmancy name for the job. Here are some samples of brilliance for your perusal:

Praise the Lord!

AB 19 was struck down by a 37 yes to 31 no vote!! Five away from passing, the war isn't over, but the battle was won because of God's mercy and the action taken by Californians. Bring on the next battle!

Act Today!

California friends, this is the last week for the California state assembly to pass or vote down AB 19. In order for this bill to fail, we need at least eight democrats to vote against it. Below is a list of the swayers. Please contact them today and let them know the people of California want them to oppose AB 19! Not in the writing mood? Then feel free to copy and paste the letter I've written below (substituting your own name of course ;-).
