AB 19

California friends, if you haven't already heard about it, AB 19 is a dangerous bill that would give homosexuals the legal right to marriage, overturning Prop. 22! It has already breezed through an Assembly committee! Please act now by contacting every state legislator as well as Governor Schwarzenegger!!

Senators/Assemblymembers against:
Senator Campbell
Senator Cox
Assemblywoman Walters
Assemblyman Ray Haynes

Senators/Assembymembers for:
Assemblyman Mark Leno

Undecided:
Governator (though we all know what he really thinks...)

Zoo Flowers

Because of distance, shading, and fences, my animals pics didn't really turn out. :'( So y'all will just have to content yourselves with flowers.

Kiss the Wrinkles Goodbye!

I love wrinkle free shirts! They're so...free of wrinkles! It's so nice to come home looking like you did when you left. Of course you might be tired, have a headache, and need a cup of coffee, but hey, your clothes look good! I think I shall expand by buying wrinkle free skirts and pants as well. Do they have anything for wrinkle free hair?

Proudness!

Guess what! My sister is salutatorian of her graduating high school class!! We're talking about a class of 235 students! Needless to say, we're all so proud and excited for her! May 20 can't come soon enough. I'm sure you agree, H, though your reasons why might be a little different... ;-)

"The 2nd amendment was never intended to allow private citizens to 'keep and bear arms.' If it had, there would have been wording such as 'the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.'" -Ken Konecki

April 18 News

Speaking out for the truth can get you in trouble these days. Well, I don't know if there's ever been a time where it hasn't, but it sure doesn't seem to be getting any better.

After showing, from the Bible, the only way to Heaven, a Christian radio host was fired. The broadcast network was the largest Christian network in the country. We don't have to worry about the liberals censoring us, we'll just leave it up the Christians...

No surprise here, but the UN is more worried about appeasing its ambassadors than stamping out real persecution. I still haven't figured out what kind of we-see-what-we-want glasses those guys wear, but they seem to be pretty popular these days.

I wanted to put a poem with this, but the only one I could think of was the one by Longfellow:

There was a little girl,
And she had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good
She was very, very good,
And when she was bad she was horrid

One day she went upstairs,
When her parents, unawares,
In the kitchen were occupied with meals,
And she stood upon her head
In her little trundle-bed,
And then began hooraying with her heels.

Her mother heard the noise,
And she thought it was the boys
A-playing at a combat in the attic;
But when she climbed the stair,
And found Jemima there,
She took and she did spank her most emphatic.

Yeah, that doesn't quite fit. Any suggestions?

I need a title for my paper on baptism. It's so boring right now. I have:

Baptizing the Saints: A Reformed Covenantal View on Baptism

Other ideas splashed at me have been:

To Dunk or Not to Dunk--Whether Double Dipping Is Proper

Bobtism: Whether PHC Is Taking over the Church's Job

Finger-Licking Good: A Catholic's Guide on Baptism for the Hurt and Dying

Baptism for the Hydrophobic: A Dissertation on Sprinkling vs Immersion

Btw, these are not all the titles. I've held back a few as I value my life and don't exactly want people screaming "heretic" at my front door... So IM or e-mail me if you want to know the rest. ;-)

L: though so
M: *t
L: yeah
L: that word
L: would that others could read our minds!
M: would that they couldn't m'dear! what are you wishing?!
L: well, if you could read my mind, I wouldn't have to worry about spelling ;-)
M: and if you could read mine, then I wouldn't have to type at all! :-P

Cooties!

Tonight at the Awana Grand Prix, the kids were gathered around the stage to watch. A couple of the boys were squished and asked their friend if he could move over more. He whispered back, "No, there's a girl next to me!!" :-D

Violet

Haha! Go me! Actually, I'd say it describes more of what I used to be more than what I am now. I credit my mom for pushing me. Quizzing, volleyball, Toastmasters, Scholarship Camp, Christian Youth In Action, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc., and more--she "forced" me into it all or at least kept me going. ;-)

Oh yes, I'm going to take the time to also say that The Incredibles is "TOTALLY WICKED!!!!!!!" It's definitely one of my favorites at the moment! The optional beginning, each person's personality and gifts, bubble popping, Dash running on water, "You don't touch my sister!!" in between punches, husband/wife driving communication, I could go on and on! For the record, there are parts I don't care about. The movie would be much better without them. Overall, though, the familyness of the movie makes me love it. My family is already planning on buying The Incredibles 2!

It was so beautiful and sunny two days ago. What happened?? Snow, snow, snow! That's what happened. We have 2-3 inches, and it's still coming down. "April showers bring May flowers." So what so April snowers bring?

Side note: I love my trees and grass! I love greenness that gets white once in awhile! I love California!

Umm...Huh?

Here's an article that left me very confused. Reading it was like a roller coaster--"yes!...oh wait, no way...oh yeah!...ugh, badness." I'm not sure what to think. Is all this a good thing?

Right vs Left

A PHC student noticed that the Bible does show a political preference:

"A wise man's heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish man's heart directs him toward the left." Ecclesiastes 10:2
