Texas Here I Come!

Yup, you guessed it. I'm going to Texas!! I have a lot of relatives there, so my whole family is packing up for 1 1/2 weeks of fun. I'm planning on lots of laughing, hot weather, tomahawk throwing, maybe convincing my uncle to teach me how to throw a boomerang, fishing, hanging with cousins, playing with little ones, turtle searching, kid chasing, singing, praying, Briar Rabbit stories, winking, and much more!!! I hope y'all don't miss me too much! *wink* If my e-mail fills up, just comment on here. I hope to find lots of messages when I get back... *grin* Kudos!

Where Has Time Gone??

My youngest sister, Elizabeth, graduated from 8th grade last Friday! It's hard to believe, but she's going to be is high school next year! And graduating in four years!! *mind is about to burst from all these realizations* She was so cute and actually prepared a tiny speech - three sentences. *grin* Graduation was also very cool for me because I got to see a lot of my friends. Some I hadn't seen in a year, and one I had never met before - Lauren!!! I gotta say, she's even sweeter in person! *wink*

Profound Quote

"What is a sentence? A sentence is a collection of words or symbols that say something (normally)."

Now some of you might already know this, but I must point out the obvious for some of you. I know this word might just blend into the page, but it is the most important one in the quote - "normally." Without this word, this sentence would be wrong, not because it violates the law of non-contradiction, but because of evidence. I must also point out the sad fact that you won't have to go very far to see that I'm right...not very far at all. :P

Glorious Water Fight

I had it! My first water fight of the spring/summer. Lovely, is all I can say. The hot sun shining, water flowing, and laughter ringing. There were a few screams as well, but that only added to the delirious fun! After a serious of twists and turns, it was everyone vs. J. The Ds have a lil building that we used as our base. While most everyone was running around outside, I devised a plan. *sneaky grin* C hid inside with a bucket of water, while I looked out the door and waited for J to see me. When he did, he came running. I ducked back inside, and when J got to the door, C hurled the bucket of water at him!!! *gleeful grin* I can still see his shocked face!! All he could do, after soaking me, was shake his head in disbelief. Ahh, I love water fights!!

:-O

You're never gonna believe this!! Because my finals have to be proctored, Mr. Shipe, PHC's DL director, e-mailed passwords to my mom. With both my finals due Friday, I stayed up until 2am studying to take my PBR final. I was finally ready when my mom realized she didn't have the passwords anymore!! The internet provider died on the family 'puter and lost all the e-mail messages along with the proctor info. All the staying up for nothing!!! Sometimes I wonder if I'm on a reality tv show or something...

I bet your state doesn't have...

...a line of state jewelry created by your governor's wife!! Well, mine didn't either until today. It seems that jewelry featuring our state's landmarks is pretty popular. You gotta admit, this is way better than raising taxes!! :-D

Movie Star's Autograph

Well, I guess I won't get to be one of those lucky people to get Arnold Schwarzenegger's signature on their college diploma. I'll just have to make do with Michael Farris's! ;-D

Happy Mommy's Day!

Mother's day always reminds me of how lucky I am to have such a great mom! My sisters and I got up early to make our mom breakfast. She nearly started crying (happy tears!) when she saw what we had done. My mom does so much for our family and is often the least recognized person in the family. I just wanna say, I love you, mom, and I pray that I will only be half as good as you!!

The Kings lost. I cannot comment for fear of losing it (my temper, head, and tears, that is) I can only ask "WHY???"

What A Day!

I found out I had a term paper (in MH&A) due today when I thought it was due NEXT Wednesday! I still hadn't settled on a topic, but I thought writing on Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina wouldn't be too hard. I was wrong! There is no information to be found on him outside of my textbooks. And I do not have the gift of stretching a paragraph into a whole paper! When I told my friends I had changed my topic to Beethoven, they immediately reminded me of "the rule." The Fab Four Handbook says,

DON’T change your thesis the midnight before the paper is due…although 11pm is ok.
Testimony (April): It is possible to do this. You can even change your thesis 4 times in two days before the paper is due and still get it in on time. However, this may cause lack of sleep and mental wearing.

I was told that I was breaking that rule by 19 hours!! Now it may surprise some of you, but I do occasionally break rules...sshhh ;-) Researching Beethoven was so much easier, and I had almost finished when BAM, another student informed me that the paper IS due NEXT Wednesday!!!!! :P...

Mike Bibby - NBA Playoffs MVP

Well, it might not be official yet, but if he keeps this up, it won't be long until it's down in the books. With an outstanding performance tonight, Bibby quiets the Timberwolves's fans. He had 33 points (three treys), 7 dimes, 7 boards and 4 steals!! We had to wait two years for him to really come back, but this is the Bibby we all know and love.

Comment System

Ok, I finally took the time to put up a comment system. Now y'all can let me know what you really think about what I think about. Yeah. And I got two comments within the first hour of it's arrival! Yay! Feel free to go back and comment on older postings! I'd love to get some feedback!!!

Rest Home Extravaganza

If you ever want to have some fun and be entertained at the same time, start a rest home ministry. My church puts on a service every month for Springhill Manor and get so many blessings out of it. We also get quite a few laughs. Guys, if you have a low self-esteem, this is the place for you!! Once, a lady dropped her cards, so one of the guys helped pick them up. She really appreciated his help and asked me, "Isn't he cute?? He gives me goose bumps!!" The women practically rant and rave over the guys! It doesn't matter if they're only five, they'll keep reminding poor lil M that girls will be following him where ever he goes! (Don't worry, I cover his ears ;-) )The only thing they say to me is that they had children when they were my age... :P I just think they're getting desperate. ;-) Last month, one lady was complaining about a toothache until a nurse reminded her that she didn't have any teeth! This Sunday, the Lamb of God was the topic, and a lady said she had raised lambs. She also said her name was Mary and that her lambs were white. :-D A lady named Mugs always dresses up and has all her jewelry on. When someone complimented her on it, she said, "Well, you would too if you sat at a table with three men!" And with that, I'll wait until next month to share some more stories. Or at least until I can remember some more...
