Which Will You Be?

Have you ever met the gentle old lady or the jolly old man? There's just something about them that makes you instantly love them and want to be around them. They're willing to talk to you about the days gone by and teach you.

Now do you recall seeing the harsh old woman or the grumpy old man? No one wants to talk to them. In their last days, there's always something to complain about. Life isn't fair.

Both sets of people did not become this way over night. It was no accident they ended up the way they did. Their character is the result of the way they have lived their life. Each trial along the way molded them into the person they are today. Their response to the unfairness in life became the habits they now exhibit without reserve. They chose to either rejoice in God's mercy or become bitter. Now, more clearly than ever, the character that was founded in their youth and built upon during their life is seen.

The question for us is not which person you would like to be. The question is, what kind of character are you building now? Only when you can answer this will you know the kind of person you will be 50 years from now.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;
for whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap. -Galatians 6:7
