Tomorrow May Be Too Late

You hope against hope that something happened in the last days or minutes. The person realizes their need of salvation and throws themselves at the feet of the cross. You find a note or hear a testimony that confirms it. You breathe a sigh of relief and whisper a prayer of thanksgiving. But friends, this is not always the case. Instead, you sometimes find the person gloried in sin giving no thought to the cross as they passed from this life into eternity.

Tragedy, illness, and financial loss do not always lead people to Christ. God did not come to fulfill our felt needs. He came to save our souls from the wrath to come. So why do we wait for the perfect moment to share the gospel with the lost? 150,000 people die each and ever day. Where is the urgency in the church of America? Does it trouble you that everyday people, maybe even those you know, are stepping into eternal damnation?
May we who know Christ hear the cry of the damned as they hurtle headlong into the Christless night without ever a chance….May we shed tears of repentance for those we have failed to bring out of darkness. –Jim Elliot
