If I didn't know any better, I'd think that the Reeds have had a camera following me around. Today Luke gave something really, really cool! It's something I've been searching for, especially the last couple of weeks...a courtship candle!! The story behind it is kinda funny, which is why I like it so much. ;-) When a young man came to court a young lady, the father of the girl would light this candle. The young man was allowed to stay and visit until the candle burned down to the first rung. If the father liked the young man, he would move the candle up higher allowing it to burn longer. If he didn't particularly care for the young man, the father would move the candle down to get rid of him faster! :-D
