The gods never answered... Part 4
Our new home hadn't been completed, however, so we couldn't move in immediately. We would have to live temporarily at a military transit camp. The day we moved in, I looked over our new neighborhood and felt very lonely. I was Sunday night and I missed my Christian friends.
Then I heard music--Christian hymns! _It must be angels!_ I thought.
No, they weren't angels, but they sounded like it. I asked someone passing by where the music was coming from, and he told me that a group of Christians met regularly next door.
God's promise to me was true! My mother stared angrily as I ran next door to meet them.
Since that day, God has continued to prove his promise to me. Three months after I found that church, I married the mister, and God has graciously used us the past several years to start others churches among the Indian people in South Africa. Unlike the gods of Hinduism, my God has always loved me.
This is the true story about a dear friend of mine. Years later, she, her husband, and their children moved to the US to escape the apartheid in South Africa. They now have a fruitful ministry in the Bay Area and enjoy their three grandchildren.
